Aim
To provide an update of the current evidence base relating to the therapeutic management of asthma and COPD in primary care.

Intended learning outcomes
On completion of this course you should be able to:

• treatment of asthma patients in accordance with the most recent BTS/SIGN asthma guidance
• discussion of the National Review of Asthma Deaths and prioritizing patients who need to be invited for urgent review
• management of COPD patients in line with national guidance, and the updated GOLD guidance
• identify areas where changes to your current practice may be required.
